Pick up highth

Post by Larry Strawn »

I thought I saw a post some time back on how high the pick up should be from pu to strings, can't find it. Can some one help, or refer me to this other post??
Thanks

1/8 to 3/16 is generally acceptable. If you have a covered pickup such as George-L the lesser the height. Open such as Lawrence the greater the height. As a general rule, I place 2 quarters between the strings and the top of the pickup adding a little more distance on the larger strings. Hope this helps.
