boss DD-3 distortion

Post by TRAP TRULY »

I just bought one of these at guitar center and it is distorting on the repeat real bad.If you hit or slide notes the repeat or delay effect produces a distorted noise that is very noticeable. The notes i play seem to sound o.k. but the repeat is distorted.I have E-66 pickups if that matters. Is this a normal occurance of this pedal or do I need to take it back?
Thanks alot, trap

Batteries or DC adapter? These are battery eaters and weak batteries would be the first suspect. I will only run delays off of an adapter after learning the hard way that even a seemingly fresh battery might give it up in the middle of the third set.

Don't forget, the delay signal on those are
only 12 bit, whereas the DD-5 (& now 6) is
16 bit. That results in a much clearer delayed
signal. If it's real bad though, you
could just check out another one.

Its on a AC adapter. The delay repeat sounds like a distorted grunt.
