Intentionally-twitchified volume pedal?
I want to modify a volume pedal to be as sensitive to movement as possible, for my own obscure reasons - exactly the opposite of what most people seem to be looking for, which is a smooth, even sweep. I will be keeping my regular one around too, as not every experiment works. I should use a "linear" taper pot, right? As opposed to "audio" or "log" taper? Should it still be 500K? What would a 250K guitar pot do in there? Any recommended brands, types, sources?

David, I think the pot that would do the job for your requested application would be the linear taper in as high a resistance value as you can get ( about 3.5 Meg.). The Mil number for a suitable pot would be JA1N056S355UA. The Clarostat stock number for that pot would be 10F2512R3.5M and it's priced around $6-$7.
That would give you aout as quick a "turn on" and "turn off" as you could get without going to a switch!
