Evans amp repair.....

Post by Mike Kowalik »

Anyone know of someone in the San Antonio/South Texas area that would be able to repair an FET 500 LV?

Marty Muse is in the Austin area. I just bought a FET500LV that was blowing output transistors and called the factory and they said that they had changed to a different output transistor and had also done some changes to one of the boards. It cost $124 for them to go through it. That price included return shipping. You might call them up and talk to them.

AFAIK, Marty Muse hasn't worked on amplifiers in YEARS. Unless you know of a good amp guy in SA, and I guess you don't or else you wouldn't be posting this Image, I'd (1) send the amp chassis back to the Buffingtons, (2) contact Derrell Stephens, or (3) contact Jim Evans.

My first choice would be (1). I've sent a couple amps back to them for repairs, without any problems and reasonable costs.

Thanks for your advice Herb....Rick Price says the same thing...just thought I'd check to see if there was any other option.
