Rocker Switch for MosValve

Post by Jerry Overstreet »

Anybody know where I can find an on/off switch for a MosValve 500? It is a simple snap-in rocker style on/off switch. 16A 250V ac. with 2 push-on blade style lugs.
Made by Arrow England. Number on switch is 1600HM11E B. Panel cutout is .450 x 1.100. Ken, Jack or Bill? Anybody?

Check Digikey www.digikey.com

Also do a search using google for the part number and Mfr on the switch.

Have you tried Genz Benz? www.genzbenz.com I replaced the volume and presence controls in my MV500 a couple of years ago and bought the parts direct from them.

Genz Benz is excellent on service. Pull up their site and go into Tube Works and leave a message. They get right back to you. I order stuff from them right along.

Genz Benz won't service Mosvalve amps though. I have a Mosvalve 500 with a dead channel and they would not work on it. It has been down over a year now and I haven't found anyone that can fix it yet. I guess I should have stayed with Peavey, they'll service anything they ever built.

The factory won't work on them but if you pull up their site, they have a list of authorized service centers you can take your amp to.

Thanks fellows, yeah I tried the google thing first Jack...came up with some similar #'s but not a match.
Genz-Benz doesn't have any info at all on Mosvalve now. I ordered a RT921 power supply from them a couple years ago and they charged me $40 list for an $18 transformer.

Although I found a suitable repacement switch to get it running, it is not a perfect match and I'd still like to find the one I described in my first post.

As far as reliablity is concerned, this is the first and only problem I've had with the 500 in 14 years. I have the complete rig with the Blue Tube 11, Rt921 Reverb unit and it will blow everything else I've ever had out of the water.
I also have a LeMay modded NV400 that I like a lot for a simple rig.

Jerry,
You need to get ahold of Scott Andres with Tube Works. I have just received a couple of power switches for Tube Works stuff. I have a rack system almost identical to yours.

Darvin, I second the motion to again try to find an independent service center.
I bought a busted Mosvalve 500 for cheap, then had it serviced by QTS Electronics in Lawrence, KS.
Genz-Benz wouldn't touch it.

I also had a power switch failure on a newer Mosvalve 1500, it took Genz-Benz two tries to get it right.
