I'm wondering how folks are doing this and still keeping the BB as the first unit the pickup sees.
It seems like an A/B box could possibly defeat the effectiveness of the BB.
Anybody doing this on the fly?

Hi Bob. I just back the volume pedal to silent and unplug the cord from either guitar when switching. It keeps things cleaner, and it's almost as easy as a switch. It also insures that the lap steel isn't connected to a cord when not being used. I cant tell you how many times I've kicked my lap's cord and knocked the guitar over.
You could use an A/B box as long as it has a good, gold contact, true bypass switch. That shouldn't introduce any tone-sucking.
