help for wiring 3 pole toggle ?

Post by Kevin Ruddell »

Hello , I'm rehabbing an old Magnatone D8 and just put two new Truetone pups in.The original wiring from the two necks pups to the three pole toggle and vol/tone was wrong and didn't work correctly and so I don't know how it should be wired . If anyone can advise me on how to wire the three poles of the toggle switch base I would greatly appreciate it. I should be fine with the rest of the wiring as I've done several pup changes on my Fender Precision basses, but just don't have any experience with a toggle switch in the scheme.

thanks

Assuming the switch is a three position center on, just wire one pickup live wire to one end and the other wire to the other end. The center connector is the output and goes to the volume/tone circuit and on to the output jack.

Check the switch wiring/poles with a continuity tester or an ohmmeter and make a drawing of how the switch works. If that doesn't solve it, send a drawing to me and I'll figure it out and email back a finished wiring diagram.
