Hum

Post by Jim Dunaway »

I recently purchased, through the forum, a used Peavey Nashville 400 amp, and if I set the post gain knob above the most minimal setting horrendous hum results. Could this be a bad potentiometer, and if so, where can I find one with the correct 3 prong orientation?

Check the dreaded Molex connector from the reverb tank. Unplug it and spray it with a bit of contact cleaner and plug/unplug it a few times. This has been a problem with an otherwise trouble free amp.
