I used both a Univerb and a Deltafex. They sucked and lasted about three months each.

The Deltafex gives you the impression that the delay times are attenuable. They are not. You can get a 12 3 6 9 change in the delay time of the smooth turning knob, but you are not getting anything but the 90 degree attenuations.

I found this out when I brought it home from The Peavey Dealer in Portland, brought it back to return it, and was told "Whaddya expect for that kind of money." The Peavey Rep told me that it was "up to the dealership". It took me ten years to buy something else from that place, or from PEavey period.

I bought a Nashville 112, and like ALL my Peavey Amps, I love it, and swear by it.

Tey make good amps, guitars, and Thoose old powered 12 channel boards fed me for years.

Their other stuff? Buy it from someplace you can take it back if you don't like it.

I got a Pod xt, and for the reverbs and delays alone it was worth the price, let alone the amp models and stereo functions.

That's my take on it.

Eddie,

They are almost disposable and are cheap if you buy them on ebay. They are usually around the $50 range for like new ones. I have had two of them, they are simple to use and if you are not too critical, they are just fine. I had a Profex II and sold it because it was over-kill for my needs. If all you want is a few delays and reverbs, the Deltafex will do the job.

In all honesty, the Deltafex is marketed as processor for sound system applications. It does a good all around job for instrument applications. I am not aware of any manufacturer who has introduced a processor strictly for the steel guitar.

Thankss Guys: Mike, I think you are right. Seems like everything is for "Metal Heads". The only thing I want is a good choice of reverbs and delays and I want them seperate. I'll probably end up with two Boss stopm boxes. Looks like thats about as simple as I can get it.-----------Eddie
