reverb tank?

Post by Terry Sneed »

anybody know about what a reverb tank for a session 400 would cost? That's got to be my problem I guess. For a while I could take the wires loose and spray contact cleaner on the plugs, put them back on and it would work. I even tried to clean them with a small stainless wire brush using contact cleaner. but now, when it quits workin, the cleaner don't seem to help. I have squeezed the sleeves together to get a tighter fit also. can this tank be fixed, or do I need to get another tank?

Terry, Take the reverb tank out of the amp. Turn it over and carefully inspect the fine wires which connect the springs to the input and output jacks. One of these wire may be broken, and need to be resoldered. This happened to me a few times when I carried my Session 400 around to gigs for years in the back of my car. Good luck with it.

Thanks Larry. I did that about 6 months ago, and the wires were fine. but maybe I need to check them again. I've put casters on my amp since then, and all that rollin could have broken a wire.

If it turns out to be a defective reverb pan, our Parts Department can sell you one for $48.33 including shipping in North America. Call toll free at 1-877-732-8391 and select the "parts department" option.

Check the wires into and out of the tank as well by plugging them into/out of some other device that you know is good. Those plastic molded jacks are notorious for going bad. If this is the case you can lop them off and solder quality connectors in their place.
