Can I over ride, or bypass the amp emulation feature of this thing? I love all the effects available on it, but I would like to just use the effects and not the amp emulation part. Can this be done?
You can choose the amp model - bypass, and with the new Post EQ feature, still have some EQ control.

Not a dumb question, but rather a great one. Yes is the answer. I love the PODxt for that reason. I play thru a Twin and on a number of gigs I go between steel and strat. For steel, I'll turn the amp and cabinet modelling completely off because my Twin does all that by itself for real. The PODxt tone and drive knobs are disabled and it becomes merely and FX unit, and an excellent FX unit at that. When I grab the strat, I'll still leave the cabinet modelling off, but I'll kick on a Marshall or Fender or Matchless or Vox model or whatever to get a guitar sound. I can also use the PODxt's new global EQ to compensate for the real amp's voicing to make the guitar sounds come thru more balanced sounding. The PODxt is a great FX unit for steel. The reverbs, delays, and more are pretty cool and very controllable with the knobs. The tap delay time button, easy delay mix level, easy reverb control and even the tuner work great for steel. Great sounding unit.

You guys know your stuff. Guess you have to if your making your living playing and using the gear too.
Something you may not know...
you can use the FBV shortboard (LINE 6 controller) and connect expression pedal to the EXP. pedal jack on the floorboard (for a Volume pedal) and have the perfect setup for those of you who play Electric Gtr and Pedal Steel as I do.
I don't know yet if you can use your regular volume pedal on this jack ...but I will check it out to see.
