Off-On Bat Handle Toggle

Post by Rick Collins »

Controlling the Off-On of the EQ on my Webb 6-14E is a toggle switch which has the specs:

Off - On Bat Handle Toggle
DPDT
15A - 125V AC
10A - 250V AC
3/4 HP

I've been looking for two weeks for this replacement switch. I cannot locate one in southern California; and all of the web sites I've searched do not have it.

This would seem to be like every McDonalds and every other hamburger-flipping-joint in southern California being out of onions at the same time. Image

It is odd. I'm beginning to reason that maybe there is some kind of collusion among electronics manufacturers to short the market. And then, all-of-a-sudden, this switch will appear priced at $500 each. Image

...any help appreciated. Also, I will accept any information, even if it further confuses the issue. Image I'll just have to sort it out. Image

Thanks in advance, Rick

Rick.............

Any DPDT switch will work for that EQ thing.
All it does is turn on a few LED's and re-route the signal thru the EQ circuit. As long as you can find one to fit the physical hole in the chassis, go for it. It don't have to be a hi-amperage or hi-voltage switch. Less than 25 volts at about 20 mills is used. Just be sure to wire it up correctly.

These days, good hardware stores and auto parts stores are better places to find solid toggle switches than RS. Bat handled switches seem to be particularly popular for automotive use.

Rick: I found actual Carling switches at Harry`s Ace hardware. Part #31504. In a moment of weakness, I got mine from radio shack. Hope that helps.
