I've owned all the different Peavey steel amps with and w/out mods etc and I like them a lot - very nice tone,very reliable and I've always been pretty satisfied. But nowadays I'm diggin the midrange and high end of the new Fender Steel King amp.It's very musical and not at all harsh. Other amps have a tad more headroom but it's hard to beat the overall tone and punch of the new Fender. Someone else will have to speak for Walker,Webb,Evans or other steel amps - I have very little experience there.
