My MSA pickup woes are over. I just took it to Dave Vidal in Vancouver, who specializes in pickup repair. It sounds great; I never knew what I was missing out on until now. The sound is way more full, the attack more punchy, the highs less shrill and it hums less. Huge thanks to Dave for re-winding this pickup back up to 17.5k where it was supposed to be, and doing a great job of shielding it too.
