when i turn the amp on it hesitates for a second. is that natural?

Yeah. Mine does that. No biggie. I hesitate for about an HOUR when I wake up.

Yes perfectly normal. Solid state amps have some humongous capacitors (electrolytics) in them, and it takes a few tenths of a second for them to charge up. Generally, the bigger the amp, the bigger the capacitors too, so a 200-watt amp will take longer than a 10-watt amp, but it should still be ready in a second or so...way ahead of those tube amps! My 1000 does the same thing. I agree it is normal.
