Help, w/Stewart Amp

Post by John Daugherty »

I can't find a manual for a Stewart CA400 rack mount stereo amp. I need to know how to connect the inputs for the unbalanced output of my Lexicon MPX 110.
The Stewart has (3) screw terminals for each channel, labeled (gnd),(-),(+). It also has a switch "mono/stereo" "use ch 1 for mono".
I thought I could jump (gnd) to (-),for unbalanced, and connect the output of the Lexicon to (-) and (+). When I connect this way, I get a buzz and no output. When I do not jump (gnd) to (-) and connect to (-) and (+),which I assume is balanced, I get a distorted faint output.
I tried using one channel only and also switched to mono and used ch 1.
When I strum the guitar, the peak light comes on indicating that the amp is receiving a signal.
Can anyone tell me how to make this amp work? ........ JD
