Anybody tried the Peterson stomp box?

I've got a V-Sam that I'm very happy with, but it is kind of a PITA to have to strap the thing to the leg of the guitar and I'm allways hitting it when I get up. I see in the music supply catalogs that they now have their design in a stomp box that sits on the floor. Has anybody tried this? Does it have the E9 and C6 presets? Can you see the display when it's sitting on the floor under your leg?

I have one for a few weeks. It does not have Steel Presets, but it has two programable settings.

(Note: I have only used it for Standard Guitar so far, except for tuning my PSGs A notes, then the rest the old fashined way.)

It's so rugged a protective boot is not needed.

You can easily read it from the floor.

The 9V battery has been fine for 8 gigs so far. I suspect it will last a long time because the display is only on when you are tuning.

The "True Bypass" really works. I use it in-line with no noise.

My V-Sam stays home most of the time. It's very useful in the practice room.

I like them both, for different reasons.

Thanks for the posts, guys. I wonder if the E9 and C6 presets from the V-Sam can be copied or entered into the stomp box? Otherwise the unit isn't of much interest to me. I already have the Boss stompbox and I don't temper tune my 6-string.

Hey, Paul, mi amigo, I will see you in St. Louis, if not before. Like Jim, I am curious as to whether this unit can be programmed with the presets. I know all the great players prefer the big unit on the leg clamp, but us klutzes would love to have a stomp box that stays out of our way. I cannot tell you how embarassing it is to get up from the guitar two or three times a night only to whack the leg clamp with my right knee, sending the unit sprawling across the stage, usually unplugging it in the process. If only I could be as graceful as you.

Ken D and Jim C my understanding is that (like Joey Ace mentioned about) it has two programable temperaments for any offsets you want to save in menu usually they are P-1 and P-2 I am not confirmed 100% on this yet as I really did not demo the tuner (stomp box) when I was there last-Myself,I don't need another thing for my feet to do

I love my V-SAM and am quite happy using the pre-programmed offsets for E9TH and C6TH in the menu as set from the factory-But I will check with John on Monday to make sure that you can just copy and save their factory pedal steel presets or your customized ones [This message was edited by PAUL WARNIK on 03 July 2004 at 05:52 PM.]

It absolutly has two programable "slots".

You don't "copy directly from the V-SAM', at least not electronically.

You get your guitar in tune, by whatever means possible, (even with a V-SAM), make a chart, and then program the new tuner to the offsets on your chart.

BTW, I don't like the leg clamp and big V-SAM live.
IMO, it's looks are distracting. I perfer the little one sitting on the floor.

I still like my V-SAM, but it stays in the studio.

The little guy lives in my Pac-a-Seat.
The True-Bypass feature of the Strobo-Stomp really works well.

You can not use the stomp box really for the
Pedalsteelguitar.
In the program-modus you can only program a note +/- 15 cent flat or high .
Its more build for 6-stringer .

Sorry, I must correct me,
when your tempered tuning is between +/- 15 cent, you can use it for the pedal-steel also
good.
