Profex ll problem

Post by Jim Florence »

If I change presets fairly fast on my prefex ll, it goes out on me, and displays "Interface error" and I have to re-initialize, and reload the cache card. It works fine until I change presets. Any ideas
what could be the trouble?

Jim...........

This is just a shot in the dark.

It's possible that oxdidation(sp) has happened to the chip carriers. If you will reseat all the removeable chips in the unit, perhaps this will clear up your problem. Please be sure to put the chips back in the sockets in the proper oreintation. Now, some chips are soldered onto the PCB and the program select device may be one of these. In that case, you may wish to send the unit to Mike Brown at "Peavey" for service. They have a super service dept and fast turnaround.

Jim, I have been told that a bad battery can cause all sorts of weird problems. If you remove the battery you will have to reload the presets.

You will have to reload the presets if you change the battery. If you wish to send it to me at Peavey, e-mail me with the UPS or Fedex tracking number and I'll see what I can do to assist with the repair.

A battery can leak and cause problems, but we won't know until the unit is bench tested by a tech.
