Bias settings and assumption..

Post by C Dixon »

Folks as many times as I have said it, I still fall prey to my own words.

"Do NOT assume!"

I created another thread about bias and in that thread I said, "manufacturers do not include the procedure for adjusting bias." A fellow forumite Roger Kelly just sent me a schematic of an '84 twin that does indeed give the procedure for adjusting both bias and balance.

Thank you Roger.

My stupid assumption was that since they had never done that when I was servicing prior to '73, that they still don't. I stand corrected and sincerely apologize for my assuming. The old saying of what assume means is quite appopo here.

Carl, the only thing you are maybe guilty of is misspelling " all" before manufactures. these new fangled contraptions do not keep up with our old timey thainkeing, and if someone said a williamson design, very few would know what you were refering to.. Do like some did, hang a series of 1.5 v batteries soldered to geather , until it works. Best to you Carl, jennings.
