Lyle, you might want to try one of the new multiple effects processors such as a POD XT or one of the various Digitech models. Most of these have several kinds of reverb modelled after some of the traditional favorites. The POD XT has about a dozen different kinds of reverb and is almost worth the price for that alone.

Some that have worked out well in our Studio are the older Lexicon LXP-1, Roland SRV-330, and the Alesis Q-2. Of course if money is no object, the new Kurzwiel KXP-8 is a totally amazing unit.

I have a Digitech 200 Studio Reverb which also has many other things in it like Chorus, Echo , Fuzz and too many to name. But you can use the factory presets or find exactly what you want, as far as Reverb goes , it has many different kinds of reverb and it is the best sounding reverbs I have ever heard and it is quiet as a mouse.

Hello,
IMHO
If the word studio means using a reverb unit for recording, mixing, and as an effect for just playing...
Consider a true stereo processor that will add that stereo reverb to the left and right tracks as you mix down. Also consider a unit with balanced ins and outs to reduce the chance for noise. A great unit is Lexicon. Lexicon units will do most other effects also, but not distortion/fuzz/overdrive...
The Lexicon PCM81 is about as far as a home/project studio needs to go. About $1200.
The older PCM80 and PCM70 are great also. TC Electronics also makes great units. Find them on eBay.
hope i have helped.
