Tubefex Brain Cramp

Post by Steve Stallings »

Saturday night I was using my new tubefex for the second time. The first time I used it it was killer.

I am using the following:
Tubefex into VHT 2/90/2 into two Pacific cabs with 15 inch BW.

I had a slight problem. I could not get any sound whatsoever out of the system. I'm not sure what I did but the display said "Global Mute". No matter what I did, I couldn't get it to work. I didn't have the manual and felt pretty stupid. Still feel stupid. How do I get this out of global mute?

I wound up using my Peavey Classic 50-212 for both steel and guitar.

Steve, maybe your battery is bad. This makes them do funny things.

I just bought it from Ken Fox and he put a new battery in it. I am going to try to find the manual at my house this evening and go thru it.

Steve, you should be able to go to the Global settings using the global button and find where is says output is muted. Without looking thru a manual, cant exactly remember, but you will see where it says muted. Just push the scroll up or down button and it should fix the problem. Ohterwise check your bypass button.

Steve, I will have to look at the manual myself on this one. I suspect it may have to be initialized, but I can't imagine why. I have a new (still in the box) Tubefex on the way here this week. If yours has a problem, I will load it with Newman settings (or the combination of Newman and Peterson settings) and send it to you right away. Let me know!

Thanks guys...

Ken, That is a very kind offer. You are truly a stand up guy. I won't be able to look at the unit until probably Friday because I am tied up working on our church Easter musical service. I really need to buy a cache card! If I reinitialize, I'll loose my settings.

David is correct. There is a global page which will allow you to "unmute" the Tubefex.

Well,
After over an hour going step by step in the manual and even reinitializing the unit, I can get nothing at all out of it.
Even when unmuted it doesn't work. I checked input levels, output levels, cords, guitar patches, steel patches...nothing.
My old profex still works great though Image

Just so you folks understand what a stand up guy Ken Fox is, he is having me ship this one to Peavey for repair and footing all related costs!

Steve it's still better than French service.
I had my Mac blow up 2 years ago, put it in the shop with a RUSH RUSH RUSH order on it,
and my Protools dealer lent me their machine, no charge.

3 weeks later a tech calls up and said.
"Mr. your computer is dead, do you want us to fix it....? " (translated of course)

Uh Duh Fuh.... yes replace the mother board and send it back.

3 weeks later I get a call.
"Which mother board do you want?"

And this is a licenced Apple Care repair facility too.
Makes one want to scream.
[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 18 May 2004 at 03:43 AM.]
