Peavey DDT compression

Post by William Peters »

Anyone know whether the DDT is supposed to protect the speakers, or is it supposed to protect the amp? IOW, If I connect 50 watt speakers to the amp, which is rated at 130 watts per channel, will the ddt protect the speakers from blowing?

Read this article as it might help you understand about clipping and how DDT can help. But, the bottom line is that DDT will not "prevent" the failure of the speaker, but will assist in preventing distortion/clipping from reaching your speakers.

Here is the article from our website; http://www.peavey.com/support/technotes/concepts/clippingrevisited.cfm
