Got me a Webb
Finally, after several years of wanting one I was able to find a used Webb 6-14E I could afford. It's a black one even though I wanted Burgundy. Q: Wonder if it could be re-tolexed to the color I wanted. Anyway it works & sounds great. Needs a pilot light bulb and the red light covers. Also it's obviously been played in alot of clubs from the nicotine smell and brown film I've cleaned off of it. Oh well, what else can you expect for a $300 Webb Amp. That amp can be redone...the cabinet is nothing but wood...so it's just a matter of getting some new tolex in the color you want doing it...I've seen Peavey amps that were redone in a fender like brown color...the coolest I've ever seen was a Nashville 400 that had been stripped of the tolex, then had a cherry stain applied and a very nice varnish job...looked like a piece of furniture!!
