Has anyone used one of these? It's supposed to be a '59 Fender Bassman replica... cheap and good... if the legends are true.

any experience with it by anyone out there?

GREAT amp. I used a couple of these for years. No problems. Only thing I did was take the back panel off for some more ventilation and put a sheet of thin sheet metal in the top for some shielding and heat reflection.

I have one of these gathering dust in my basement becaust my Line 6 is just too handy for guitar and fiddle work. When I used it a few years ago, it worked great. I'm thinking of bringing it back out. I'm sure it depends on the speakers you use. I have 2x12 with Celestion G12s. That should work.

Apparently, it's supposed to be a dead ringer for a Fender Bassman (except for the Russian markings, and the logo and form factor stuff) in the circuit.

No reverb is a pity. Does it have the headroom to play steel through and stay basically clean?

It seemed surprisingly cheap, compared to other all-tube gear... what am I missing?

I never considered using mine for steel. These amps are as bare-bones as you can get. 2 power tubes, 3 preamp, very little wiring, very utilitarian.
