My Reverb is a Radio!
My Evans FET 500 LV has a radio station playing. If I turn the reverb down all the way,it goes away. So, other than living with it or just using my RV-3 100%, or getting another Reverb unit, what is the solution. Would wrapping the reverb unit in tinfoil be a good idea? Placing it somewhere else in the amp? Putting some screenwire around it? Cleaning the plug and jack where it plugs into amp? Moving? I am about as far out in the country as you can get. I am not in the middle of nowhere, but you can see it out my back window. There are no transmitting towers anywhere near me. Hope one of you guys that know technical stuff like this will read this post and offer a suggestion.

By all means, cleaning the connectors of the cable s going to/from the reverb tank could very well help. I've seen bad solder joints causing AM radio t be rectified as well...so if cleaning the connectios dont' help, have it looked at by a tech to retouch all the solder joitns in the reverb tank, cables, and associated circuits inthe amp.

I have experienced RF waves (radio frequency) coming over my amp when a CB radio is talking in the parking lot of the club. Also when I was in New York I got a signal from CBS radio tower (which was close by my location). Nothing could be done as there was nothing wrong with my equipment. It was due to such a high level of RF in close proximity.

One morning, on the live Daybreak Show originating at WRAL-TV, Channel 5 in Raleigh, NC; my Fender Twin Reverb picked up a trucker's CB and blasted all over the show's audio. Every microphone on the floor picked it up. The audio man and studio staff were all saying: What the H@&& was that ??

Remember Spinal Tap's concert at the Air Force base? Nigel had a wireless that picked up the pilots talking. Funny stuff... sometimes.
Is this a new problem or has it always done it? Does the amp have RF filtering on the reverb return circuit?
What Gino said too. Could be a cracked or weak solder joint, dirty connection or the like.

Brad, this is a new problem. I have been wondering if a new radio station has started up or one has increased it's output, changed frequency, or something. I am not knowledgable enough in electronics to know if a RF filter is installed, but I would assume not, unless Derrell Stephens put them in all the Evans Amps he made in the 80's. I haven't got around to pulling the chasis out yet and cleaning the connections. I have abnormal circuit noise also in the amp. Someone suggested I clean the plug that connects the pre-amp and the power amp together. I would not think the circuit noise problem would be related to the reverb problem, since the RF goes completely away when I turn the reverb off.
