Session 400 Power Cord Replacement

Post by Brian Edwards »

My Session 400 is working fine, but the grounding prong (for lack of a better name) off the end of the power cord is broken off. Is the power cord easily replaced?
[This message was edited by Brian Edwards on 01 December 2003 at 02:21 PM.]

Yep, Real easy.

Go to Home Depot or similiar or any electrical supply house. Buy a new end and install using screwdriver and wire cutters.
If you are really a newbie to electrical repair, get some help. I like to get the Hospital grade plugs, these are really nice and will last forever. The best ones are made by Hubble. Be sure to fasten the strain relief properly.

Just rememeber to connect correctly:

wire color screw terminal
green green
black (hot wire) Bronze/brass/copper color
white (neutral) silver or dull silver

You may see reference to the "grounded conductor" instead of neutral (meaning it is grounded at the electrical service to the grounding system). That is the proper name for the white conductor by NPFA 70 (National Electrical Code). The white is no longer consider a "neutral" conductor.

Well, I ended up replacing the entire cord without managing to electrocute myself!

Thanks for all of your suggestions.
