Pickup installation

Post by MIKEHOLLAND »

My Jerry Wallace Truetone pick up was shipped Friday and will be going in a double 10 Carter. This will be my 1st pickup installation. Are there any do's or dont's involved with changing out pickups? Thanks in advance. Mike Holland

Don't drink too much coffee when you're puttin' in that pickup Image I think that the Carter guitars have a
terminal strip for hooking up the pickups, which is a real nice touch. just ake your time.

Make a quick diagram of which wire goes where so you can be sure to duplicate it. And yes, take your time.If your TT does as much for your Carter as it did for my Zum, you'll be tickled pink!

What Roger said, make a diagram, take your time, and don't cut the lead wires too short! If you leave a bit of slack you can tuck 'em down with the cable ties on the Carter. I think those Truetones are gonna knock you out! Try starting with them adjusted about two quarter's width below the strings, adjust to taste.

I never heard a bad sounding Carter with any pickup.
