keyboard amps

I'm looking for something lightweight, around 100 watts, less brittle sounding than a Peavey KB100. Any thoughts ?

I have a Fender Acoustisonic Junior that is designed for acoustic guitar but it sounds great for piano and keyboard. It is stereo with 2-8" speakers and a piezo in a sealed back cabinet with 40 watts per side. It makes the under saddle piezo pickups sound better than any acousstic amp that I have tried. It also has a XLR in on one channel. It is loud and will take bass and drums on the keyboard good too. It is about the size of a Deluxe Reverb.

Hi John,
I've had a pretty good result with a Fender Bassman 100. It's got a 15" speaker so the lows are clear and the highs are still bell like. Let us know how you make out!

I have been using a Fender Keyboard 60 amp for about 4 years, works great for me. I also have a Behringer keyboard amp, but it does not sound as good as the Fender. The only thing is the Fender is only 60 watts, if you run a line to the PA you can boost it up. I have done that lots of times.

Peavey has a new series of Keyboard amps that sound terrific, they have a slanted front. I had a KBA-100 and they are worlds away from that as far as tone.

Mike Brown should be able to give you some insight as far as models and specs.

I suspect that they would sound great on almost any steel guitar. They should have the range in Frequency.

Also, have you considered disconnecting the piezo tweeter in The KBA-100 and going to a better quality 15" speaker.
