Just had a call today from the Peavey repair 'guru' in Canada, who informed me that the Roland M512E card can be used as a substitute for the Peavey Cache Card with the Pro-Fex II, Tubefex, Session 2000, etc.
Here's the trick!!!...to make it work easily, remove the metal strip on the bottom of the card, by prying the 2 pins away.
Now the card will work, & you won't get the annoying message: "Not A Pro-Fex II Card!"

Thanks for the tip, Al. But, you can also select "INIT" instead of "LOAD" on the global screen and this will initialize the card for the Profex II format.
By the way, the latest is the Roland M512G RAM cartridge, but they redesigned this particular RAM model and it is physically about 2 inches longer and will stick out of the Profex II that much in length. Kind of awkward.
[This message was edited by Mike Brown on 23 October 2003 at 06:01 AM.]
