Studio Pre-amp's

Post by Paddy Long »

Has anybody had much experience with the MesaBoogie Preamps - going direct in the studio?? I was using my ProfexII in the studio and it really developed a crackle when I pushed the volume a bit, so I tried out the MB V-twin they had in the studio and it was surprisingly good - just added the effects on the desk. I have heard mentioned a MesaBoogie Studio Preamp but don't believe they make that any more --- anybody had much experience using the V-twin in the studio ??

Yep, they still make 'em. Since it's the same as their rack-mount "Studio Preamp", it oughta work pretty good as a studio preamp. Nice "fat" tube sound, and also great for blues and rock (as is all the Mesa equipment). Image
