Vegas 400 Settings
Does anyone have any recommendations for settings on a Vegas 400. I recently purchased this one and haven't quite got it down to what I think sounds good. I've been using Sessions and Nashville's for a long time.
Thanks
Walter

I have the Peavey Mod but here's what I do:
Pre: 9-12 o'clock depending on size of club
(no BRIGHT activation)
Low: 2 o'clock (The Mod really affect this one)
Mid: Inner knob - 10 o'clock
Outer knob - 2:00 o'clock
High: 9 o'clock
Presence: 3 o'clock
Reverb: 5-7
These, of course, pertain to channel 1

Walter. Does it have the mod or is it the original eq? That amp (the left channel) is essentially the same amp as a Nashville 400 only the cabinet is bigger. Most people seem to be happy with the bass at 3o'clock, the midrange set at 800Hz and cut it back to 9o'clock. Trim the treble and presence to taste.
Good Luck,

I am using one of these amps on gigs.
I like experimenting with both channels, and am still doing alot of knob turning.
This amp has a Miracle Audio Mod, and currently has a JBL speaker (M2000?) that came out of a PA Cab and was reconed for the correct OHM rating.
I like this amp because it sounds good and is loud as hell (and isn't too heavy and has sturdy casters
).
I have noticed though, that if I run the Bass setting much above the 1 0'clock setting, the DDT Compression light comes on quite a bit when I wack the B6th fatties.
The bass gets seriously "bass-ee" in the last 1/4 turn clockwise of the the knob (wide open).
I have been running it stereo using an RV-3 and a Music Man 112 Sixtey-Five (has a JBL 12" speaker). When running with 2 amps the DDT doesn't kick in much if at all.
I also use an Alembic F2 tube preamp with a Lexicpon LXP-1 sometimes.
Fun Stuff!

Thanks again Brad and Pete for your input.
I think and, I'm pretty sure, that it does not have the mod in it. I bought it last year to use as a backup amp and I have been intending to run it down to Peavey and let Max or Chris take a look at it to see if I can get it gone through and put back to original, if it needs it. I gave $200 for it so I guess I would come out o.k. by having it checked. I swap out guitars on it at times. My Mullen has one sound and my GFI has another. I'm going to try an Emmons on it shortly when I get time. I think the settings are going to vary by guitar.

Walter;
Here's Buddy's Vegas 400 settings. (I believe he has the Lemay Mod installed in the amp.)
BASS 3 O'CLOCK
MID 12 NOON
SHIFT 12 NOON
TREBLE 10 O' CLOCK
PRESENCE 2 O'CLOCK
It's a good starting point.
