digital recorders

Post by Kenny Yates »

Anyone considering buying a Boss digital recorder, beware the power cable is not included and roland wants $24.95 for a power cable, that should be included with the product.

Beware

Which model?

The 1180CD comes with a Power Supply..or at least it did when introduced..

My BR8 came with a Power Supply..

There are 2 other models , 864 and 532 which run on battery power and list the PS as optional. I agree it's a bit chincey to not include the PSA supply for an item that costs in the $500 range.

If they are now selling 1180CD without a power supply that would be pretty foolish..

Maybe it's Be Aware instead of Beware..

But, they all are fine units , easy to use and give very nice results.

just my take

good luck

My Roland VS-880EX came with a power cable.......I think it's the standard 3-prong computer type if I'm not mistaken. What model unit are you referring too?

The model BR864 is the one. As for as I can tell it is listed as optional way over in the instruction manual. They can charge whatever they want for their product, but be up front about it. Not everyone lives next door to a music store, so it's very inconvient to say the least, and it leaves a bad taste in your mouth about the company, now they want twenty five bucks for a little cable that should sell for two ninety eight.

That's probably why they didn't ship a power cord...no electricity in Mississippi, That's okay we can do without electricity if that will keep Californians out, Image..
