Looking at the back of the ProFex unit,it reads,"Effects Loop Return,Left(mono)". I would suspect that the left OUTPUT would, also,be mono. Of course, you could try both outs, separately,& see what your happy with.

The manual states to use the left output for mono. It is not a mono output, there is not one on the Profex 2. You will loose anything that is programmed as a right side effect.
I prefer to to run the left and right into the channels #1 and #2 jacks (I use the normal channel on my Fender amps, typically. The two outputs are summed nicely in my old Fender amps, as there as two 68K resistors that go between the two jacks.
I am not sure if the Vegas has two jacks per channel. If it does this should work well.
On Fender amps with reverb, channel one and two are out of phase, using both channels for left and right inputs will not work well. On non-reverb Fender amps, the channels are in phase, you could just as well use both channels in that case.

The output of the preamp is very high compared to a guitar signal. Keep is at about three on the output. The input should blink green once in a while. If it gets to much input it will hard clip (almost a grunting sound). Also if using both channels of the Vegas amp, use the second input of each (padded -6db) that will allow a little more output from the Profex.
The Peavey mod will also help with the signal to noise ratio. It consists of four OPA2604AP that you just plug in.
