E-66 Impedence?

Post by Dennis Detweiler »

Anyone know the impedence(resistance) of the E-66 pickup? And the BL 705?
Thanks

I only have an analog meter--about to order a DMM--and readings are only approximate.
I get the same as Jim on the GL (12) and I read around 22K on a 705 (10).

Funny....the old original '66 pickups
only measure about 14K.

Isn't the George L's E-66 a humbucker? That would account for the difference.

Of course, keep in mind that ALL of you are talking about the DC resistance, NOT the impedance.

Exactly right. The actual thickness of the
winding wire will affect the impedance.
So, two pickups with different resistance
readings could have the same impedance
depending on how thick the wire is.

I have several George L "E-66's" for Emmons D-10's. They all read between 17-17.3k (17.5k?) ohms.
