Scott I use the older Studio Pre. I'm sure
they all are good but the studio is so warm
and rich. Lots of string sound with the graph
bumped a bit in the highs but really a good
transfer of the sound of your axe. the direct
outs are a little dark but workable.

Scott,
Like Chuck, I also use the older Studio pre from Boogie...It's versatile, and has a very nice clean tone for both live and recording..The distortion's not bad either !
The graphic EQ on it is very helpfull...These pre's usually sell used for between $250-350 depending on condition..They make a nice pre for 6 string electric guitar also....Jim
