RV3 Settings

This is my first post on the forum. No doubt this has been overhauled before, but I would like to know some of the favorite RV3 settings out there, both with one amp and two amps.

Alright I hauled mine out.

I put the left Balance knob at about 8 O'clock.

I put the Tone knob (repeats) all the way off.

I put the "R-Time" knob at about ten o'clock.

I put the Mode switch on 7. Delay/Reverb.

The Left knob REALLY soaks it between 8 and 9 oclock. Ususlly that's best for the slower single, dual note sweeps and harmonics. MOstly I leave it at 7 Oclock. Mind you, that's with the peavey reverb turned almost all the way up. ( They're not very pronouned reverbs. Nothing like the Old Fenders..)

I use it After the pedal on a single amp. I tried the loop in the Nashville but it howled. Before the pedal it's less noisy but has a funny level control irregularity.

Two Amps:

WHen I use two amps. they are My Nvl and my Session 5oo.

You've figured out that RV 3s hiss like hell and are microphonic. THat's probably why they quit making them.

WHen not miked, I use the stereo outs after the pedal. A to my Nv, and B to my S500.

When I have to be miked of have a line in, and the soundman objects to the hiss. Here's what I do:

I run a line to my Nvl ad use the line out or mike it to the board with only the onboard reverb or not much at all for the quietness of the signal. THEN I run a line from the lower input to the amp into the RV3 and out the A ( mono) output to the Session 500. It's not miked so I can put as much reverb and it can hiss as much as it wants, and only I hear it.

I've thought about an RV5, but they appear not to have a delay.

In 20 some years it's about the first "effect" I've really used to any extent.

Other than the hiss, I like it.

From (L) to (R) Balance = Barely-ON, Feedback = 9:00, DLY-Time = 10:00 to 12;00, Mode = #6-Hall (Mono or Stereo!) I have always put the RV-3 in the Rear Effects-Loop, and use the AC Adaptor or Battery. I have never experienced any hiss/noise of any kind, no matter where I made the connection! My (4-sale) RV-3 is quiet! [Don't use any Amp. Rev.] When I used two (2) Amps., I placed the RV-3 between the Volume-Pedal and the Amps. (Front-Panel Inputs) I always used the AC Adaptor!
