Dobro Microphoneing

I have a (52) Fender Super-Amp w/t 10 JBLs 2Inst & 2 Mic jacks currently being used with a D10 GFI which works very well. I'm wondering if one of you old Fender Amp buff's could please advise what make and modal of microphone you feel would be most compatable for this setup to including voiceing when not useing the Dobro which is a RD-45 Regal . Audio-technica has a couple of clip on mics that should work really well for a dobro. They include clip on and gooseneck for positioning. The PRO-35X is priced at $129.99 and the RTM35 PRO is currently $179.99 at Musician's Friend.

I have a wireless AT lavilier it works great.. The only problem is monitoring, you will have monitor problems thru a p.a. Try borrowing one to try.

Bob,

I re-read your post and I think you are asking what mic would be good for voice or dobro.(one at a time)
My first response is a Shure SM57. Great all around mic, great instrument mic.
Since you have 2 mic inputs, consider an SM58 for vocal and one of the mics discussed above for dobro.

Hope I got your question right.

BTW. Biggest problem will be feedback. IF you need some ideas about that, let me know.

If I read this correctly, you want to put a mic into the MIC input of a 52 Fender Super. First of all, it will need to be high impedance. Second, the sound quality is not going to be that great so I would just keep with something very generic. Go with an SM57 and get a low-to-high impedance converter that has the 1/4 plug on one end. You can get them at Radio Shack. If you were going to mic it through a PA I would make other recommendations, like the ATM35 previously mentioned, but for feeding the amps, the 57 will be more than sufficient.
