True Tones in an MSA classic SS?

Post by Ulf Edlund »

I'm getting curious about the True Tone pickups. I have read so many positive statements about them here on the forum and as a sucker for single coils i wonder if anyone has tried them in an older MSA. My Classic SS has E-66's and sounds pretty good with them, but again i'm a sucker for that chrystal-clear single coil sound. Would it be worth the touble and money to switch from those E-66's? Image

Ulf...I can't speak for the MSA, but they sure added sparkle to my Zum. Clean, clear and almost noise free TONE. You won't regret the change!

Ulf-

I have an MSA which is (I believe) a little older than yours. It's a 1976 Classic S-10.

I also had an E-66. After switching to a True Tone, and having had it a few weeks now, I'd say the switch was about 90% favorable. I don't think you'll be sorry if you switch. Image

Ulf,
The TrueTones are so darn good that when I put my pedal steel in the van to go and play out, my van even runs better !!!...Jim

James, thats perfect!
If i bring the steel on my boat i won't have to buy a new outboard engine! Image
I may buy a few extra for protection against dandruff, bugbites and spam mail too.
