Replacing the PROFEX & TRANSTUBEFEX

Post by Kenneth Kotsay »

What electronic effects unit similar to the Peavey Profex, Transtubefex & Tubefex would you replace these 3 units with, example:
LEXICON 100 & 500

I need some suggestions. Hopefully the replaced effects unit don't contain any internal batteries or ram cards. I have both Peavey effects, they are both great & do the job for me, and I'll never part with them but someday down the road these units will be hard to get repaired or will be un-repairable to begin with.

What other similiar effects will do the job.

KEN

PS Mike B. don't take offense at the above.
[This message was edited by Kenneth Kotsay on 08 July 2003 at 04:42 PM.]

Darn good question!

I only have part of an answer. The 3 PV units all have a preamp AND efx. Some of the efx include compression, distortion, and many more....reverb, delay, chorus, flanger.

Only one of today's Lexicon units has a preamp...and you don't want it for steel.(MPX G2) I took it back the next day. Great efx, horrible pre/eq.

For great musician's efx, consider Lexicon MPX series (notG2) or TC Electronics.

Preamp? I dunno, your choice here.

Hope this helped a little.
