URGENT: fuse-cap for 65 bandmaster

Post by Tony LaCroix »

I'm only posting this here because I don't have time to look around.

Last night I got set up at a gig, plugged in the amp (65 bandmster- "piggyback"), turned it on and... nada. No glowing tubes, nothing. Took me half an hour to figure out that I had lost the fuse cap and fuse during transport, with no substitute. So,

Is this something I can pick up at radio shack, or are those old fuse covers hard to come by?

Thank you

P.S. I plugged directly into the P.A.- ICK!

Tony, RS has the complete fuse holder for 2 bucks... it's a little different but fit right in a Twin I was working on the other day and seems good quality. Unfortunately, the cap doesn't fit in the existing Fender holder. The Twin I had was missing the cap as well, and I never found anybody selling the cap only.

partssmart.com has the original Fender holder for about 4 bucks I think.

Angela's got the fuse caps for $3.00. http://www.angela.com/
Click Guitar Amp Parts
Click Fender Amplifier Parts
Scroll down to item #10

No savings in $$ but easier than replacing the whole holder.
