Mike I have been using a 1501DT-4 ohm for steel for years, I love it, it needs to be replaced.
I have access to a 1502DT-4 loaded basket, what will I hear, how will it perform?
I have access to a 1505DT-4 loaded basket, what will I hear, how will it perform?
Is the dust cover the only difference between the 1501 (metal) and the 1505 (paper)?

Hello Larry,
The 1501-4 DT will have less of a high end boost than the 1502-4 and will roll off sooner at around 6K and up. You would notice a boost in the mid range as well. A note of interest is that Junior Knight prefers the 1502-4DT over the 1501-4 SB, if that makes a difference.
The 1505-4 DT is recommended for public address/vocal use, so the high mids will be boosted slightly over the 1K-4K range. I wouldn't think that this would be pleasing to the ear though, but I haven't tried one for steel either.
The 1501-4DT and 1502-4DT have both been used at one point in time for the Vegas 400 and Nashville 400 amplifiers as well as other Peavey steel amps. "Any" of the above BW's will perform well, but it just depends on what you wish to hear. However, much R&D was done "before" we released it to the public, whether it was through our artist program or through our dealer program.
