Trapezoidal Fender Pickup

...just in search for the ultimate tone:
Has anyone ever rewound a Fender trapezoidal pickup, with more turns of wire, and found that the new sound from the instrument was much improved (to your ear) than from the original winding?

Maybe to your ear..but not to the ear of the person who designed it for a specific tone and sound.

Leave it as intended. Rick I dont think you can re-invent the wheel. But if it satisfies

Thanks Jody. I think a Fender man would know.

Playing the Dual Eight Professional through a Webb amp. (220 watts), it seems that I must dial out a lot of the mids.

Try a few different settings,,and when you find one thats pleasing to your ear,you will
hear the best sounding pickup ever produced.

I asked Leo Fender to wind additional wire to my pickup's and he obliged and watched my
expression as I said....I take it back,do it
your way and he did.
