Could someone tell me the best pickup to use in a Yamaha acoustic 6 string guitar. I havent got a clue. It will be played through a Peavey acoustic amp. Thanks loads in advance. Martin.

There is lots of stuff out there.
The Sunrise Soundhole pickup if very good. You will not have feedback problems. IT can be mounted and unmounted without damaging the geetar, no alterations to bridge or saddle. Or you can permanently mount it. In the $200 range?. A good full sound with either phos/bronze or nickel strings. No piezo quacky tones.
An acoustic preamp might help. Try it first thru the PEavey, then decide.
Hope this helps.

I've got the Baggs I-Beam. Pretty natural. You'll need an acoustic preamp for just about any pickup. The Baggs Para-DI is the most bang for the buck. 5 band EQ with 2 sweepable mids to clear out the honks and barks.
My current favorite pickups are the B-Band under saddle type and the Baggs I-Beam.
The Sunrise and the Fishman Rare Earth are the soundhole magnetic types and they too sound great.
