Practice Headphones
We were wishing that we had purchased a pair of practice headphones (amplified) that were for sale at the Dallas SG show last weekend. They were the big type with the battery in the headphone part. Where can these be purchased? I think they were $50.

I don't know which ones you were looking at, but all of the small inexpensive self-contained earphone units I have tried were designed for regular guitar and don't work for pedal steel (very low volume and very high distortion). Try them out before you buy them or be prepared to want to get your money back.

You may want to consider a very small amp which has reverb and a headphone output.
Headphones can get old in a hurry sometimes so the option of going live at low volume may be a consideration.
There are many very small low volume amps that would be suitable for a very low volume practice session at home or hotel room. A small amp , used, with an 8 inch or 10 inch speaker ,reverb and headphone output may just fit the bill and they are available in quantity for not a lot of money.
just a thought
