Fender recone?

Post by Matt Steindl »

I know that this has been discussed before, but what reasonably priced shop would you rcomend to recone a blue back fender 10" speaker? Any ballpark ideas on price?

Thanks,

Matt, I recently did an Internet search on speaker reconing and called 3 or 4 different places and got 3 or 4 different prices. It seemed that everyone started reconing in the $75 range and went wild from there. But I was asking for 12" speakers and JBL's as well.

Yes I know, this is a totally useless response..but it's all I've got right now...

Check with Nick at www.tonetronix.com (i think the emailfor speaker recones ets is speakers@tonetronix.com ). He deals in a lot of boutique pedals and amps, but his speaker recone prices seem fair ( I think $45 for a 10" or 12" speaker). He's located just outside of Youngstown Ohio.
