Anybody use stereo power amp bridged mono?

Post by Tony Palmer »

I have the DPC750 with TubeFex and 2 speakers
and was wondering if it makes any sense to try a gig with just one speaker, for a smaller gig.
I know the stereo effect will be lost, but so is it when using a ProFex or TubeFex with a (typical) steel amp.
(I know the obvious answer is to just unplug one of my speakers the next gig and try it, but I'm curious if someone regularly gigs this way)

I've run a Mosvalve 962 mono. No problem at all. I don't think this abuses the amp in any way.

I use a Peavey DPC 750 and just use on side with a single speaker and get a long fine.
