You might want to check out a product from PG Music (Band in a Box) called "Slowblast." It can slow down a CD without changing the pitch. I recently had an application where I downloaded a recording of "Taps" from the Internet and I wanted to use it as part of a song that a friend was recording in my home studio. "Taps" is in Bb and my friend's song is in C. I used Slowblast to slow the song down to 89% of its original speed and then I copied it over to my VS1824CD Roland recorder which also can be varied in speed. By recording the slowed down song at 89% of normal speed it allowed me to change the pitch of the original from Bb to C without changing the speed.

The URL for Slowblast is http://www.pgmusic.com/slowblast.htm

There's also a computer program called "Transkriber" for under $50 that will record music from any format. Then you can slow it down w/o changing pitch, or you can even change the pitch to any pitch you want!! You can also loop segments and do all sorts of neat stuff for learning.
