RC2000 Remote Discontinued
I have a Peavy Session 2000 amp and wanted to buy a remote control that was offered at one time by Peavy. Is there any reason why the remote control is a disadvantage
for any reason? I just wonder why Peavy quit
producing them. I did not get an answer from Peavy!

I feel the remote would be an advantage. I almost picked one up for my transtubefex but I really don't need it since the TTFEX sits on the floor beside me so I have access to it. If your amp (session 2000) is not with in your reach or you just don't want to turn around to change presets manually then I would get the RC unit. Not sure why Peavey wouldn't make it any more?
A fellow steeler who runs a local music shop here in Lethbridge has a new RC unit in stock. If your needing one I could put you in contact with him althogh I'm sure there are places closer that may still stock them.

The remote is just a MIDI controller. A number of MIDI controllers are available. You get the MIDI implementation chart from the 2000 manual and set up the controller. The original is the best to use, though.
[This message was edited by Paul Osbty on 14 February 2003 at 01:19 PM.]

The RC2000 was specifically designed for use with the Session 2000 amplifier, but will work to its full capability as a remote midi controller for our Tubefex, Transtube Fex, and Transfex Pro products. It will work with the Profex II, but due to the fact that its architecture is totally different than any of the above products, the only characters that it will display in its screen are numbers and some of the Profex II functions do not apply to the RC2000.

Hey Rich, I have the 2000, and I wouldn't be without the RC 2000. It clips to the leg of your steel and makes it so you don't even have to look around at your amp. Without it I would be having to get up wvery two minutes. Another thing to think about is if it's out of production, it might be hard to get later, as those guys [including yours truly] who have the 2000 are not going to part with them.
