Eminence Speaker Question

Post by Stephen Winters »

I recently purchased a Eminence Gamma Pro 12A bass speaker from a mail order service. After I received the speaker, I noticed the terminals where not what I am used to seeing. Instead of just plugging the wire on, the terminals have some type of screw on device. Have any of you had any experience with this type of terminal? Do I need a special adapter or anything? Thanks for your response.

When you loosen the terminal, do you see
a hole on the threaded section that you can slide the speaker wire into?

Yes there is a hole. So I could just remove the plugs from the end of the speaker wires and slide the wires in and tighten? I know this is a novice question, but I didn't want to damage a brand new speaker.

Stephen: In a word, yes. I have also seen the same type of connector (with the hole) that was on a spring. On that one you push down on the shaft instead of unscrewing it and just pull out the wires. Hope this helps you.
