Demir, I wouldn't trade a new Webb for 3 of any other amps. No hurt intended just how i feel. I'v owned about all of them. Just my honest opinion.

Hi Gary, thanks.I`m sure they are both great amps. Some guys say that webb works better with Sho~Bud while Evans would be more for Emmons guitars.Just trying to get some informations before spending that kind of money.

I have a lot of amps that I fall in and out of love with constantly. For transister amps, the Evans 500 FET is my first choice, although I don't have a Webb to compare it to. Oh, and Sho-Buds are my main guitars.
[This message was edited by chas smith on 01 February 2003 at 11:17 PM.]

[This message was edited by chas smith on 01 February 2003 at 11:18 PM.]

I think Evans doesn`t make 500 FET anymore. They have SE 150 and SE 200.I heard John Hughey another nite down town at the legends, and man he sounded sweet.I`m not a ZUM fan, but that ZUM of his, man,it sounded sweeeet, and he was using an Evans amp.I have right now Session 500 and to me,sounds much beter then Nashville 1000,much more balls and much better tone.I had a brand new 1000 once, but couldnt never make it sound good without my Digitech 2120.

Damir, I love my rack system in my music room, but I play out two nights a week and would not go without my Webb and a DD-3...there are some that just don't like the sound of a Webb or a Evans...listen to TWhite on that TW and LLoyd tape..a killer...tom

Both Evans and Webb make wonderful amps, but WEBB is the finest sounding amp in my opinion. Have played Webb since '79. By the way, Mr. Webb will be having a Webb Amp booth at the Texas Steel Guitar Convention in March. Super great gentleman!

I heard some complains about Webb comunication.Supposatly is hard to get them to answer you or to get a spare part from them. That I don`t like.In the other hand in last couple days I exchanged already 3-4 emails with the people from Evans, explaining to me everything I asked them about. That I like.So far Peavey and Evans had a great comunication with a customer (me).I have a Session 500 wich I would like to send to Peavey to refurbish and mr.Mike Brown was right on it with me giving me all the informations.Great service. So far ++++ for Peavey and Evans.I`m kind of sick individual when it comes to gear,so I WANT that Webb too regardless, but I have to go step by step.I would love to have all three of those great amps.I want 15 diferent steel guitars also, and at least one `66 and few other p/p`s.uhu,I beter get off of here, before my wife can read it,or I`m introuble.

Webb definately. . . . .however I've started using a Fender Twin Reverb ('65 reissue) since the first of the year and I'm hooked on the sound. My Nashville 400's & 1000 don't even get used anymore. What a waste of amps. NR

Damir,

At home I use two amps. An Evans FET 500 on the left and a Web 6-14E on the right.

Hope that helps. Image

Now, if you Really want THE sound, it's got to be Evans on the right and a Webb on the left...

I just ordered a new Webb 614E two piece for carrying ease. As for which amp is best for which steel, seems Tommy has been able to get Emmons, Sho-Bud, Carter, Derby and MSA to all sound great through the Webb, nuff said.

You guys are all wrong as usual. To get THAT sound you gotta stack 'em. The Webb goes on top.

Problem is that I love my Peavey 500,it sounds great and the only thing is that is little havy and a bigger amp so sometimes I have a small problem to fit the amp on the stage.Tonite I`m plying at Toottsies in the back room (wich is pretty good size stage)and there is not too much room for it.I love to have my amp behind me but in this case I cant,so I guess I`m looking for a smaler amp that I can use in clubs like that. You guys are right, both amps Webb and Evans are great, but are they any better then Peavey 500?
[This message was edited by Damir Besic on 15 February 2003 at 02:47 PM.]

Damir, IMO Webb amps and Evans have a somewhat "softer" sound than the Peavey amps. (More Fenderish (is that a word)? All 3 companys make great amps. Only you can
decide which is best for you. You can't go wrong with any of them, IMO

Damir, I too have a "500" that I dearly love. I put a mod kit in it a couple of years ago and it's a monster amp but the 500 requires Conan to carry it around, so the 2 piece Webb for me makes more sense.
